Bi-pod Shooting Aid

Posted April 29th, 2010 by sniped

Rear support bags for shooting off of a bi-pod are an incredible tool. Shooting with a bean bag makes adjusting your shot very easy, all it takes is to apply pressure with your off hand. Here I will show you how to build one for close to nothing.

Materials

1 bag cheap airsoft BB’s

1 long sock (free at the bowling alley)

Instructions

1- Put about 1 cup of airsoft pellets in the sock and make sure all of the BB’s are at the bottom of the sock.

2- Now twist the sock about 2 times at the closest possible area to the pellets. Pull the sock inside out onto its self, keeping the twist in place.

3- Again twist about 2 times and pull the sock back onto its self.

This easy set up will help you keep your rifle steadier and place your shots more effectively. It’s a good idea to try this out with a few dry fires, you may need to add or remove pellets to get the proper height from the bag. Also you can change out the BB’s for rice or beans, each one gives a different consistency. You also have to be careful, if you get this bag wet with organic fillers in it, it has the potential to rot. You may need to change the filler.

Vortex Viper 6.5-20×44 Mil-Dot Review

Posted April 23rd, 2010 by sniped

Recently I purchased the Vortex Viper 6.5-20 x 44 mil-dot rifle scope. This scope is amazing, even compared to some of the higher mid range scopes it shines on. The clarity is outstanding and it holds true to the force of a .308 with out any issues. It is very clear that Vortex really tried to think outside the box with this line of scopes. For instance, the power dial for magnification. Vortex engineered it so that the user does not need to look up very far to see what zoom you’re at. (As seen below) The side parallax adjustment is very simple to use and the knobs have a very solid click to them. The knobs also have a very interesting way of resetting to zero, all you need to do is lift up on the spring loaded knob and turn to zero. No tools needed! It is constructed of a one piece aluminum tube and is very solid. The warranty and customer service you get from Vortex is unmatched in the scope industry. A lifetime- transferable warranty (they fix or replace it for you) all of this for under $400.00. Look at Falcon menace, Bushnell or Leupold, you will not find better value for your hard earned cash.

It has surpassed my expectations in every category, I give it 5/5 stars. If you are looking into getting a scope I highly recommend you look at Vortex for your optics needs. This scope also comes in 50mm objective lens, reticle options are as follows : Dead-Hold BDC Reticle | V-Plex Wide Reticle | Target Dot Reticle | Mil Dot Reticle
